Canine Colors for Animal CaregiversI’m so excited for the kick-off of the new Canine Colors Certification Program! In less than a week, Brad and I will host the premier of “Canine Colors for Animal Caregivers”, written by Letitia Fox and myself. It’s a workbook that customizes the True Colors concepts to the veterinary and animal care field.

As a Certified True Colors Facilitator, it has been a dream of mine to create something that specifically meets the needs of those who work with animals. When the book Canine Colors was published and the author approached me to write a certification program at the beginning of the year, I couldn’t say “yes!” fast enough.

The Canine Colors Certification Program is a two-part program. There is the Team Leader Certification and the Canine Colors Coach Certification. The Team Leader portion is completed on day one of the 2-day program. Once a veterinarian, practice manager, team leader, or technician completes this certification module, they will be able to conduct the Canine Colors for Animal Caregivers training with their team, using the new workbooks. They would also receive training and tools equipping them with the ability to perform team-building and communication activities with their team all year long.

Day two of the certification program equips an animal care team member with the tools required to be a Canine Colors Coach. As a Coach, you would be able to guide a client through the pet selection process using Canine Colors. Additionally, Canine Colors Coaches will be able to conduct coaching sessions with clients and their canine companions, who might be exhibiting perceived behavior problems. Through self-discovery and the discovery of their dog’s canine colors, clients are better able to understand their dog’s basic needs and personality traits. Canine Colors Coaches can help enhance the relationship between clients and their dogs by helping them develop lifestyle plans that satisfy the dog’s needs without compromising the client’s own personality traits.

Our first certification program, in Cincinnati is completely full! Our next program will be in Indianapolis on October 8th and 9th, hosted by Circle City Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital. Check out the agenda and download a registration form before this program fills up! More dates and venues will follow. If your veterinary practice is interested in hosting a Canine Colors Certification Program, and you have a large conference or meeting room, contact me directly at bktassava@sbcglobal.net or post a comment below with your contact information.
