Building, Training & Retaining Your Veterinary Dream Team
Current economic times have challenged your ability to build and retain your client base. But how do you do that if the veterinary team is in a constant state of change? Stop the revolving door and start building your dream team today! This one-day workshop, presented by Brenda Tassava, CVPM will take you through the ins and outs of the recruiting, training and hiring process while providing you with the tools needed to change your practice culture for growth and longevity. We will look at ways to determine if you truly need another staff member or whether you just need to look at your staffing in a different way. From new ways to recruit to hiring from an employee pool of four generations (but approaching five), we will explore today’s workforce and how you can find, hire and train the best people available. Then we will focus on retention of the dream team you’ve created for the future growth of your veterinary practice through performance evaluations, goal setting and work-life balance initiatives.
Veterinary Social Media: Getting Your Practice Optimized, Now and for the Future
In this full-day workshop, we define and discuss social media as it relates to small businesses, and the future of communications (both internally and externally) for veterinarians and their practices. There is a focus on what social media is, how it works and what it means to veterinary medicine now, and in the future.
It is important to build your practice’s social media marketing strategy through tools like blogging, Facebook and Twitter. In order to succeed, you must have goals in mind, and you must work towards those goals. This interactive experience asks participants to define their social media goals, so that strategy can be created for their individual practices. If multiple members from the same practice are in attendance, they will be able to brainstorm together and work through these exercises.
Once the practice’s strategy is in place, we then define and discuss how each team member plays a role in the practice’s overall social media success. Your practice needs a social media policy and protocol, and this discussion will guide you in establishing and implementing these necessities. We will also discuss real-life scenarios that everyone can learn from, in order to avoid making the same mistakes.
The day is wrapped up with a look at existing examples of veterinary practice Facebook pages and Twitter profiles, where we review “best practices” in terms of social media etiquette, as well as how to post engaging content. Practices that do not have an existing Facebook or Twitter account will be welcome to participate in a hands-on session where we walk through the process, getting them started on the right foot.
Two and Three Hour Presentations
Social Media and Technology: Worldwide Changes to Veterinary Marketing and Communications
There have been sweeping changes in the world from a communications standpoint that have a dramatic impact on the veterinary industry. Social media, smart phones, the apps industry, and the Internet all play a part in the present and future success of veterinary practices everywhere. Adopting these new methods of communication now will keep your practice growing for years to come. This 2-hour session explores new ideas behind marketing to find new clients, build your practice’s brand, develop a loyal client base, communicate with your existing clients on their terms, and enhance your team’s internal communications.
Cultivating a Conflict-Free Practice Culture
The success of any veterinary practice can be directly related to the culture of the practice. Conflict, lack of communication, and dysfunction can undermine the best practices. This 3-hour session focuses on how to cultivate the team culture that will take your practice to the next level, while alleviating the stress of potential conflict. Practice owners, managers, and team leaders will learn how to develop their staff into a true team, that works together towards the same goal: the health of the pet AND the practice!
Change Initiatives: A Workshop for Success
Everyone hates the dreaded “C” word! Creating and implementing practice initiatives that work can be daunting because change is one of the hardest things to accept in most workplaces. This 3-hour, interactive workshop focuses on how to create, plan, organize, implement and measure change initiatives that impact and influence in a positive manner—-staff compliance AND client compliance!
